One belief: care should not stop at the visit.
Eight years together, including five training side by side in psychiatry residency at the University of Toronto. Together they built Luna Health, one of Canada's largest behavioural sleep medicine clinics, now caring for more than 1,000 active patients. Luna showed them how hard personalized care is at scale. Avec is what they built next.
SZDr. Selina Zeng
MD, FRCPC
Selina is a medical psychiatrist and distinguished educator. As a staff psychiatrist at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, one of Canada’s premier academic hospitals, she cared for patients with complex illnesses spanning mental and physical health. As a lecturer at the University of Toronto, she trained the next generation of physicians, earning multiple teaching awards, including recognition as an emerging leader in bringing innovation to medical education.
With extensive experience in complex and longitudinal care, she believes growth moves beyond the visit, and so should care. At Avec, she is building a future where every patient is understood as a whole person and supported between every appointment.
Selina earned her medical degree from McMaster University and completed her psychiatry residency at the University of Toronto.
ARDr. Armin Rahmani
MD, FRCPC, DRCPSC
Armin is a psychiatrist and sleep medicine physician at Oak Valley Health, where he cares for patients whose sleep, mental and physical health are closely linked. He holds academic appointments at the University of Toronto and Queen’s University, where he teaches medical trainees, and served as a Member-at-Large on the board of the Canadian Sleep Society.
Having treated thousands of patients with sleep and mental health conditions, he has seen how much of a patient’s story unfolds outside the clinic. At Avec, he is building care that captures that story and turns it into better treatment.
Armin earned his medical degree and completed his psychiatry residency at the University of Toronto.
